belly button piercing infected!!!

I've had my belly button pierced for 12 yrs now and I'm 30 wks pregnant. A week ago I noticed it was getting red and swollen so I removed it. I've applied rubbing alcohol on it then placed neosporin with a band aid since. It doesn't seem to be getting much better. I'm going to see my Dr in 5 days for a regular appt. Should I seek help sooner? Can the infection harm my baby?

I took the belly ring out. Just wondering how long it will stay red, itchy, and swollen for... Maybe I will try useong the sea salt and hot water since the rubbing alcohol and neosporin is not working. :(

My belly button was pierced for 3 years when I got pregnant with my daughter, the band-aid may irratate it as well. I cleaned mine sea salt and hot water, eventually it wasn't an infection it was just irritated so I tried a pregnancy belly ring and I could only use that for a short amount of time. Eventually, I took mine out and it didn't heal up until my daughter was 5 months old.

I dont think so but its always safe to ask a dr... I know your skin becomes more sensitive when your pregnant. Ive been wearing this necklace that means alot to me since before i got pregnant im 25 weeks and now its starting to irritate my chest lol
