birth control??

I'm 39 weeks & I want to get on birth control at my 6 week check up after having the baby but I'm curious as to what some of you would maybe suggest? I can't do the pills it never worked for me & I tried multiple different ones & I did nothing but bleed, not sure about depo shot because of the weight gain & I do not trust any of those ones they put inside of you ad I heard they can break off & I'm not willing to risk that. Are there any other options left?

Thank you evergbody! I will definitely be looking into a few of these :) & for those of you that suggested condoms thanks but there's a reason I don't want that to be our only form of birth control. & honkaaa, I only wish I could rely on him to do some type of birth control wouldn't that be great lol he wants more kids though so badly so I do not trust that cuz me on the other hand, I am done for quite some time,

Have you ever considered planning to regularly breastfeed your baby? That's a natural contraceptive that you may consider. That would also help you get your prepregnancy weight back. You just have to eat healthy and nutritious foods coz whatever food you take your breastfed baby also takes. Plus when you have sex when you want to use condom.

I had gotten the paraguard its good for up to 10 years and has no hormones. Plus you could always have it taken out sooner if you want.

Ask about the implant. It's about the size of a cigarette and goes into your arm. It lasts 3 years and had an effectiveness rate of 99.95%. And studies also show that there were very few adverse side effects.
Otherwise, I've used and liked the nuvaring, but my husband didn't like it. And the POP pill, but that one only works if you're breast feeding.

I took the depo shot and for me it didn't make me gain weight. I did however have constant stomach pains and alot of nausea and when i decided to stop taking it (only ever had two shots) it took me 6 months to get my period and when i did get it i bled for almost a month straight and then it took me a year to get pregnant and im only 18. Maybe it was just my body but i would not suggest the depo shot from my experience. There is a birth control patch you can get on and also that nuva ring thing which you just have to change every monty
