I had one that stated i wanted an epidural, i wanted skin to skin contact. I wanted every possible intervention before going for a c-section. I wanted my husband to go with the baby if there was a problem and we needed ti be separated. I wanted as much movement as possible, dad to cut the cord, to be able to drink water....i had given ine to my doctor, the hospital, and brought copies with me. I think bringing copies is the best. When i got ti the hospital, i was contracting, talking was the last thing i wanted to do, so i liked juat being able to hand the nurses my requests. Also, you never know if your doctor isnt able to make it.  I happen to find out my doctor was going away for 5 days for thanksgiving.....i found out, and at 40 weeks had my membrane swept so I could have her the day before she left on vacation!  I can tell you my doctor was in call the day i delivered and she delivered many babies for other doctors. So, its better to be safe than sorry!

You dont need a written plan. Speak to your dr about what you would prefer to happen though. Remember that you can change your mind. You and baby will be constantly monitored and if any of your lives are in danger your plan could change very quickly, be it during labour or during a routine cgeck up. So be prepared for any method of giving birth. Just remember that for the most part ypu will be allowed to do what you would like. So research all ways. I did what was best for me and baby. Watching birthing videos is a good idea, but i stayed away from documentaries as these are very biased towards a particular persons view. Look at baby AND mothers during these

I had a miscarriage 9 years ago and didn't get pregnant until June of this year now I'm 19 weeks and I'm so excited but there is always that thought in the back of my head that I'm going to have another but I pray every day that I carry this baby the full term and that she is healthy just believe in god I wish you the best of luck

You need one. Include whether or not you plan on breast feeding, whos allowed in the room,.if you want drugs, and you can add things you reasearched that you want for example I want a delayed cord clamp. You should include if you want daddy to cut the cord. If you want a mirror. Things like that.
