blood drawn

I am horrible about getting my blood drawn. Not only am I a fainter but it's nearly impossible to find a vein. I went it to get my pregnancy test and blood sample to look into any health problems. They had to poke me five times before they got any blood. Can anyone tell me how many times will I need to get my blood drawn during pregnancy? Just wanting to prepare myself!

It all depends on the first result. I had to do the 3hr test twice because my results did not came back normal. I used to be afraid of needles and Vaccine, counting on the number of time i had to drew blood during this pregnancy it bacame something very normal for me now but i have to admit that i got a very good midwife to do the blood work.

Let's see if they did the first initial labs then next you should get the one to check baby for any birth defects that one this time for me was  split into 2 draws.. then the glucose test if everything goes well that's it.. if you don't pass the 1hr  You get the 3hr one and that draws blood 4x.  And I can't remember if you get blood drawn when you go into labor or if it's just the iv you get..

I have the same problem. I've only been poked like 4 times all together for testing. Good luck girl !!

I think its 3 times. It used to be real hard for them to get me too. I was told to drink tons of water before and its easier for them to draw your blood.
