What is everyones opinions on breastfeeding your baby in public?

I nursed my son in public uncovered, wherever and whenever he was hungry. I am very excited to be expecting another baby and look forward to nursing again! I don't eat with a blanket over my head... I don't expect my child to, either. I wouldn't eat my lunch in the bathroom and I don't think anyone should feel shamed enough to force their baby to do it either. I show less skin while nursing than you see on a beach or on a billboard or on a checkout line magazine cover or on a teenage girl at the mall. Feeding a baby isn't sexual, it's nutrition. It's life sustaining and it's nothing to be ashamed of and it's nothing that should be hidden away. Anyone who doesn't like it can simply look away - if they don't like it, that's their problem. Not mine, not my baby's. No stranger will determine how my child should be fed.

It makes me uncomfortable lol i dont want to see breasts in a tiny bikini, in a movie, breastfeeding, etc. I guess I'm just modest. I have no issues with a public breastfeeding if theres a cover. That's just my opinion

It depends what you are comfortable with, it's nobody elses business. I breastfed my first 2 whenever and wherever they were hungry, covered for my own modesty, I will do the same with this baby. I was once scalded for feeding my baby at the table in a restaurant, told I should be feeding her in the toilets. I responded that if my feeding my child offended her, she was welcome to take her meal and sit on the toilet to eat it but that my daughter and I were perfectly comfortable eating where we were.

Idk why but something about seeing a woman breast feeding in public makes me uncomfortable and I'm a mom. Lol... I wish I didn't feel this way bc I know it's a natural thing but I just can't seem to shake that awkward feeling I get when I see another woman doing it, so I myself would never breast feed in front of anyone other than my significant other. I don't judge those that do, I totally know it's all me that needs to get over seeing it. Lol

More power to the mamas that will do it anywhere covered or not. I personally would not uncovered. Its just a personal preference for me. Baby's got little heads and tbh I got humongous boobs so there would be A LOT uncovered. Plus baby's fall asleep, they unlatch. Im just not comfortable with that but I have absolutely no issue with those who do.

I breastfeed without a cover my husband supports it because there is nothing sexual about breastfeeding your child when he/she is hungry. People don't ever stare they will always look away or smile. The US is the only place that has a public breastfeeding problem because women were made out to be sexual. Our breast are sexual, our bodies. It's sad.

I use a nursing cover because it keeps my son focused. When he nurses he likes to fall asleep after, and if he's not covered there are too many distractions for him.

go for it. i use a cover as well i dont feel comfortable with others looking at my breast. plus there are people out there that do have weird fetishes.

I use a cover, just because it makes my husband more comfortable knowing he's the only one seeing my breast, not a bunch of strangers.

Dont see anything wrong with it at all,most women are very discreet..here in ireland i have read too many stories of women being asked in restaurants to do it the toilet or someones complaining..no mother should have to sit in toilet to feed her baby,its disgraceful and i would point blank refuse and i would step in if ever i saw a member if staff in any place asking a mother do that..youd think some people never seen a boob before even though most are very discreet about it..angers me so much

I will feed my baby boy anywhere anything covered or not. My husband would rather me do it privately or with a cover bc he doesn't want other men staring at my breast and getting the wrong idea since I've already been raped. But my son comes first. And if he needs to eat then I'll put him on my boob proudly!

I think that breastfeeding in public shouldn't even be a necessary conversation. I think women should be aloud to feed their babies without judgement where ever they need to. Unfortunately I've been made to feel uncomfortable breastfeeding in front of my in laws believe it or not (with a cover aswel) so I feel conscious of other people now. I think it's horrible mum's are made to feel that they have to justify feeding in public.

I used a cover because my son liked to sleep and nurse. I got the one that he could see my face but he was still covered

If its natrual and they have to eat just like everyone why use a cover? We dont eat under a cover.

I will breast feed my daughter anywhere with a nursing cover. It's natural and she has to eat just like everyone else.

I will breastfeed my son anywhere, just with a nursing cover. As long as you are comfortable, go for it! Its completely natural :)
