dealing with nausea and morning sickness

Hi all,
I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my first child. The symptoms are starting to get to me. I'll be back at work on Monday and I don't know how to deal with nausea around my coworkers. I'm not going to tell them the news yet until after my first prenatal doctor visit. Anyone have tips on handling nausea and morning sickness? Does drinking Gatorade or chewing gum help? I barely have an appetite.

Morning sickness is the worst.  Mine lasted until about the 18th or 19th week and the only thing that seemed to help a bit was chewing peppermint gum and sucking on limes.

Try ginger. You can buy ginger losengers and a roll on for your temples and wrists etc from pharmacies - its called baby mama I think.. worked well for me I was very severe I had to leave my job in the end, but they helped while I was still there. Also sea sickness bands are good.

My doctor told me to stay away from an empty stomach. Try eating crackers in the morning or through out the day. Hope you feel better!

Thank you all! I love bread so much but I noticed I quickly became disinterested in it with this pregnancy. But I'll give the toast a try!

Start off trying half a unisom sleep tab and 50mg of vitamin b6. If you're still suffering, see if your doctor can prescribe zoferan. I started off in my early weeks on unisom/b6 but eventually it got so bad I was losing weight so I got the zoferan and it helped 100% by about week 18 I was back to normal.

My doctor preached at every visit about nauseaus that you'll be more prone to sickness if you don't eat,  which is the opposite of what most think.  She suggested eating small meals spread out, snacks every 2-3 hours and putting toast on my nightstand and to eat a half piece every 2-3 hours or especially an hour before getting out of bed.  It's helped me.
