I had an emergency c section first time around and I'm now pregnant again and will have to have another. I definitely agree that walking as soon as possible is your best bet at feeling better. It does hurt a lot in my opinion but I also had to be put to sleep because a small part of my stomach wasn't numb. I'm hoping to be awake this time.
My first child was born by c-section 6 years ago...wasn't a planned c section but it turned out well...Just trust your medical team...I think the most scary process regarding the c section was when the anesthesiologist came in to put an epidural in my back and it took like 4 people to hold me still because I thought he may accidentally paralyze me. My doctor was wonderful...so as long as you have an experienced doctor the risk should be minimal. One thing I can tell you is that after your c section if at all possible get up out of the bed as soon as you feel strong enough to walk around...this speeds up your recovery and prevents your surgical site from getting really painful...i know it sounds contradictory but I'm telling you from experience...No don't go exercising the day after having it but walk around your hospital room...walk to the nursery to see baby things like that...some women don't do that and their stomach muscles shrink and it's almost impossible for them to stand or sit up without pain. I had my daughter on a Friday afternoon at 4:26pm and on that Saturday morning at 5:30am I was in the shower because after having a baby you perspire alot and you bleed kinda heavy after a c section so i felt icky...Lol I will pray that you have a safe, uncomplicated c section and that you and baby will be safe...Good Luck
I've also been given c sec date 18 Dec but my baby isn't breech n so reason being my first baby was born by c sec n this is second 1 but m confused about should I go for a VBAC or no......let's c
