I don't drink any caffeine at home. When I'm not pregnant I can down almost a gallon of iced tea a day. Lol. I had to cut it out because I can't stop at one glass. I tried caffeine-free tea but it's nasty, so at home I only drink water or milk.
I do drink a soft drink when I eat out once or twice a week or less. I limit myself to one glass. I asked my doctor about it and she said it was ok.
Love I have 2 or 3 diet comes a day. Soda is fine....and so is caffeine as long as your not drinking a 12 pack lol lol come on ladies. Any gynecologist will tell you that. Or just read your what to expect book...says the same things. Helps with migraines and everything else.
I am addicted to cola. However is really bad for my baby so i cut it out. My gynaicologist adviced me to take half of glass of cola every 3-4 days if its important to me but said that sprite (white sodas) are allowed..so you can change to sprite fir some mobths ans as soon as the baby cones you can drink all the cola of the world :p
I'm glad you posted this question, because I've been wondering too on how much I can drink caffeine. I love coke and it's been one of my cravings . Plus like you helps with my headaches ,and my acid reflux, because the carbonation helps me burp lol
How many pops are you drinking a day? On the back of the can it should say serving size of caffeine. Or if it's a bottle look at the whole bottle versus one serving size or Google the kind you drink for caffeine content. I just googled a can of coke and it has 32mg of caffeine in it. And they recommend only having 200mg a day. Other pops are higher on the caffeine scale as well
You are allowed 2 cups of coffee OR green/black tea witch contains caffeine, per day. As my gynaicologist said, you are not allowed to take those quantities of coffee)tea and have a sodathat contains caffeine as well. Have in mind that dark soda (cola, pepsi) normally isnt allowed coz it has ingredients that might harm your baby. Anyhow, if its not very important for you to take those drinks, is better if you forget them for a while. There are some 'innocent' pain killers (natural, green pills) that can help you with migrains etc and do not cause any adsictions in any way to your baby :)
I know its bad for my teeth but what can i do if it gets rid of my headaches.. Ive been doing slimming world for neally a year now. So i switch from full fat to diet / no added sugar
Have you spoken with your dentist about that much soda in a day? If caffeine is a necessary drug to keep your migraines at bay I'd speak to doc about getting it in a different source. Your teeth are going to suffer from all the acid in the soda. Once the enamel is worn away there's no way to get it back. Just a warning. Good luck mama.
I'm kinda the same way. I love the carbonation. My favorite soda is vanilla coke, but while pregnant I cut out all caffeine and just drink non caffeinated soda like sprite, 7up, cream soda, root beer...they don't make up for my vanilla coke but I just keep in mind that soon the baby will be here and I can have that delicious vanilla coke.
Lol i know how many cans of soda im allowed? Forget coffee n tea i dont think them
I have to have it to help with my migrained. 200 mg is good. :)
200mg like mummy2 said. Caffein isn't a risk unless drink too much just like anything else. So many things have caffeine in it....chocolate being one of them so if people say NO DONT DO IT kindly remind them that foods they eat have caffein too lol My doctor told me to have a little caffeine a day such as coffee or a soda to help with headaches and stuff. You'll be fine.
If its soda than I think it's about 4 cans per day is safe when it comes to the caffeine intake :)
Its 200 mg which is equal to roughly 2 mugs of instant coffee.
No caffeine causes migrains n sleepyness though :( its only fizzy pop im addicted to. I dont touch tea or coffee
You can drink up to 1-2 cups of caffeine a day. I wouldn't even risk drinking something with caffeine though
