cancer

Iam a recent cancer survivor im 19 years old i was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 16 in 2012 leukemia is a blood cancer,my treatment just ended in june 2014  so u could only imagine how much chemotherapy ive taken to my body also i over dosed on accident with my prescription meds.. And also had 2 strokes due to medication also i almost  died with an allergic reaction to a type of chemo luckily i was at the hospital when that happened. Ive also been put to sleep many times and also had radiation a few times Ive had so much toxic medication in my body my kidney is already showing bad signs.. BUT now that i recently became pregnant i just wanna know if any of you ladies think any of that would have an effect on my baby. I have not seen a doctor yet and im just curious on your thoughts about it?

Since all of those things occured prior to your pregnancy, i doubt they will affect your baby. It is possible they will classify you as high risk and monitor you more closely and do more frequent ultrasounds and blood work but it just depends. If they do, its all just a precaution so dont stress. Be sure to see a doctor soon. Im not a doctor so i can't give you a definite yes or no but that would be my best guess. :) good luck!

I don't think she was talking along the lines of getting an abortion. I think she was more worried it the health of the baby. And anything is possible, just because she's gone through a lot of chemo doesn't necessarily mean that the baby will have difficulties as well.

I'm not entirely sure if any of those things could affect your baby, but anything is possible. I also would like to say, congratulations on pulling through. Your a very strong woman. Anyways, I would definitely talk to your doctor and try to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. If there are any issues or any risk factors, they will put you on high risk watch so you will have appointments more often than most. Its definitely worth looking into, but always try and have a little faith that everything will be alright. Hope everything works out for you.

Talk to your  regular doctor. What we think doesn't  matter. Also ask your parents if your doctor warned about any effects that would prevent a healthy pregnancy. There should be a leukemia community on the app as well. You can ask there. I hope that you have a healthy pregnancy and  nothing you have experienced will affect that.
