cigarettes

I smoke cigarettes but recently found out I was pregnant. I have seen many smoking those vapor cigs and you can buy them with no nicotine in it. I was wnting your opinions if that would be dangerous or not. Or if you know people that smoke these while pregnant. Please and thanks

I know it's hard to quit smoking, trust me! Dont risk it though! Think about the beautiful life inside you. If you think about it, it isn't a big sacrifice to quit if you're putting your baby's health first. I was a smoker until i found out i was pregnany and haven't smoked since then

I agree that you should consult your doctor. Also, I want to add the first trimester marks tremendous chromosomal change in the fetus so any chemicals introduced to the body which also exposes the fetus poses a risk of causing birth defects. The risk decreases once all organs are fully formed. If it were me, I would avoid using them until at least 13-14 weeks even if doctor cleared them. I would especially avoid nicotine because it is a vasoconstrictor...so it makes blood flow (nutrition) decreased to the fetus...which also leads to problems such as low birth preterm labor etc. Hang in there...and try to replace it with something good for you and baby.

It's very hard to quit smoking! I struggled so much with it. Finally, at 8 weeks I quit completely. That 1st week was not fun at all. I won't tell you it's easy, it's not. I will tell you it's SO worth it!!! I'm now 22 weeks and never even think about wanting a cigarette. You can do it! It'll be the best decision you ever make. Good luck!

I used a vapirizor when I found out I was pregnant. my doctor told me its not the nicotene that hurts the baby as much as the 7000 other chemicals in the cigarettes. I used it for a couple months and gradually went down in the level of nicotene until I reached 0 I eventually started not to like the taste of it anyway. I know allot of other women who used vapirizors through their whole pregnancies who had perfectly healthy babies. but its obvious that just quitting and using nothing is prob the best choice.

Stopping smoking is challenging for many people!  If you can't quit cold turkey (and many doctors talk about this as being too stressful)-- then cut down day by day.  Good luck hon

I think vapor cigs are so new that they are still trying to figure out the risks of them.  They are going through some processes now to do that to regulate them better with appropriate warnings.  So, I'm not sure if they are safe or not.  Ask your doctor probably is the best advice I have.  good luck

I smoked them for about a week after finding out but I stopped. I wouldn't even risk it. The baby still gets the nicotine and if you do the ones without nicotine your still putting something in your body that you probably shouldn't. Ask your doctor but I wouldn't do it
