circumcision $$

So we don't knew know the gender yet but I let my husband decide i if our sons would be circumcised or not. He wants them to be but I am not sure if our insurance covers it. If it doesn't, how much well it cost us? Any insight?

When my son was born in 2011 I was quoted $425 out of pocket if we chose to have the procedure done and it was not an option to have it done in the birthing center where he was born but would be done instead at a doctor's office nearby. It wasn't covered by my insurance because it's elective and cosmetic.

I've never heard of it costing more than $150 if you get it done before you are discharged from the hospital. You should contact the hospital you'll be delivering at to find out for sure. And as far as i know, insurance doesn't cover it because it is cosmetic and not required.

I'm in va and there's a law here that makes getting boys circumcised free. I don't remember what its called but if we have a boy we won't have to pay anything

I called and checked with my insurance. They cover it completely as long as it it's done before we are discharged from the hospital :)

I live in Minnesota and for my son it will be $150 at the hospital and if at the clinic after it would be $350. It isn't normally covered by insurance because it considered "cosmetic"

Our insurance won't cover it but the hospital we are delivering at will do it at a greatly reduced price if we pay for it before delivery. It is going to cost us $150 instead of the usual $500.
