confession! !

I have an addiction. ..nothing to bad its just pop (soda).. i cant shake this   i really feel myself getting mad if i dont get it. .with out it my baby kicks like  it needs a hit...

Do some weaning off of the caffeine...even if it tastes bad or not as good...your body is addicted to the caffeine, not the taste, right? Another bad thing is that caffeine is a diaretic, which makes you pee out all of your hydration and during pregnancy you need so so much hydration...I drink a lot of sweet tea so I switched to decaf and put less sugar and at Starbucks I used to get full caffeinated, then half caffeine and now I get decaf . I also started putting water in the fridge and I sometimes mix my juice with some water because it gives me heartburn otherwise.

Also an addict! Lol I had to quit drinking reg. Coke because it aggrivated my heartburn horrible but I love my mountain dew and pepsi! I did switch to drinking mostly caffeine free versions But I can't do diet pop artificial sugar is a trigger for migraines for me. But I make sure to drink a glass of water after each can of pop. I have cut down quite a bit but just can't kick it totally.

Soda os honestly very very bad in large quantities. It's actually less of a risk factor to drink a large cup of coffee in the the morning rather then sodas during the day. soda is not only high in caffeine but also sugar. Studies have shown that children whose mothers drank excessive amounts of soda per day had sorter attention spans and took longer to retain basic knowledge. Not to mention chances for diabetes later in life increases drastically. If you get nauseous easily try drinking pregnancy teas. Eating smaller meals throughout the day and try to ween yourself off of sodas slowly if necessary.

Recent research has suggested that mothers who eat a high-sugar diet during pregnancy (whether or not they have diabetes) cause a risk factor for future diabetes in the child.  It does not mean a diabetic mother will pass on diabetes to her kids.  It's more of a matter of a high-sugar environment during pregnancy causing the risk.

Just a FYI women can't pass diabetes to there kids. That is false! But i got the powder packets n added it to my water. Thats the only way i could drink it

I have a soda addiction as well. I'm 37 weeks today and the baby is fine. The dr just told me to limit myself to no more than 200 mg a day and to eat healthy food. Don't forget your prenatal vitamins.

My doctor does not have an issue with pop per se but rather caffeinated beverages.  So, if you go with non caffeine drinks, that is better.  The empty calories of pop is something to consider but not doing damage to your baby. good luck

Each can has the equivalent of 12 teaspoons of sugar, I have read.  It does seem rather hard to credit such a high number.  You might try cutting your pop in half with sparkling water and seeing if you can wean yourself off the sugar that way.  There is a real risk of diabetes to kids born to women who eat a high-sugar diet.

How many are you drinking per day? Should try to limit yourself to maybe 1 or so. There's a lot of sugar in them.

I tried that if its not strong it has a bad taste...my doctor gets on me cause she doesn't believe i cant drink water with out vomiting

Just go to ones without caffeine or lower caffeine
