I've been taking stool softer as well but still don't go as much, and yes it is horrible lbs! When I go it's in little balls and maybe only a few of them and I don't go everyday
Try drinking lots of water and foods high in fiber. Apples pears, bran flakes, wheat bread, prunes if you like them. Also beans and nuts and broccoli.
I take stool softeners n my doctor said eat bran cereal n drink a shot of pure cranberry juice. I get so constipated its horrible lbs
