I followed lists that I googled and that other mom's posted here, and I feel as though I definitely overpacked. I wore the hospital gown the whole time I was there, but did wear my own robe to walk the halls, so that and clothes to go home in. They'll have maternity underwear and pads, but I'd bring your own shower stuff, toothbrush/paste, etc. Also make sure you bring your phone charger, camera, and extra batteries. In terms of baby, they'll have diapers, wipes, blankets, etc, and my hospital provided a sleep sack, but if you're going to want him/her to wear other outfits at the hospital, bring those and an outfit to go home in, along with the car seat (obv) and warm clothes for the ride home.
Packing in a few weeks. On baby #3 I'm packing a take home outfit for baby and a blanket for baby as its cold where I am. For me my shower stuff deoderant toothbrush ect. Comfy jammies and my pillow. I also like to pack snacks for the hospital stay and my phone charger that's about it.
I haven't packed mine yet but my last 4 births packed phone charger, made sure I had my phone, crochet stuff cause I like to crochet, little newborn clothes, blankets, a few pairs of clothes for me that i wouldn't mind if j got blood on after birth, a towel so I didn't have to use the hospital ones, the hospital blankets are cold so maybe a blanket from home, my prenatal vitamins and any prescribed medication that I was supposed to be taking. A camera. My birth plans so that the nursing staff had them on hand I knew what I'd like to do. Made sure infant car seat was already in the car. Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, hair ties, ChapStick, lotion, snacks lol
Pajamas, house shoes, and something decent to come home in lol. Then for my baby I packed just a couple outfits for him. I still have to pack my tooth brush and hair brush. I'm not packing much for him because hospital has everything for them. Oh also I'm taking my phone charger and something to do like my yarn.
