Like everyone said I don't think it's hereditary, but my labor didn't progress with both my kids. I labored for 23 hrs with my 1st and 21 hrs with my second and I only made it to 4cm. I'm expecting now and I'm going to try vbac again hopefully 3rd time is a charm! Oh, and I and the only one in my entire family that has gotten sections! Good luck!
I was in labor with contractions every 5 then 3 minutes apart for 16 hours. I never dialated. However I am the only person in my family to have a csection. I had my first due to breech baby and the second because I never dialated. It is possible but not common or hereditary. Don't worry yourself. Our bodies are meant for this and I am actually planning in trying again for a vbac because even my ob doesn't think it will happen again.
We're those women induced?
I don't know about it being hereditary but it's possible. After 24 hours labour a friend of mine had not dialated enough & bubbas heart rate started to drop so they did emergency c section
I highly doubt it could be hereditary, i dilated to max, but ended up having a csection, my advise is walk a lot, it strengthens your core which will help with pishing, but as far as to help dilate i have no idea, hopefully someone else here can help with that, good luck, congratulations and happy pregnancy!
