family

My (23yr old) boyfriend's family is going to be THRILLED to hear im pregnant, but im worried about MY family's response because I am only 20. My mom lives across state from me, my dad lives near me. My mom and step dad have a 3 and a half and a 6 year old and are VERY controlling and religious, so im very worried about them trying to put in their opinion or worse... any advice please??

She's just always told me that the "family curse" is having kids early... my mom had me at 19 and my grandma had my mom at 17... both resulting in marriage and divorce. My mom's relationship with me isn't even really a relationship, I feel like she regrets or resents me... so im worried about telling her and her reaction :/

My moms super super religious. She was super super angry but shes happy now. Its a gift from god, not everyone is blessed with a baby. If theyre mean or rude just shake it off, theyll eventually get over it especially if theyre religious. Its against everything they belive in if they exclude you from their lives. Just relax.

Trust me when I say that a baby is a blessing and a responsibility for both you and your boyfriend. My mother's side is heavily religious and trust me when I say this, it is not easy when they come off as hypocrites on their own beliefs. My suggestion is to take negativity with a grain of salt and be happy with you and your boyfriend since you two will be raising and providing for this little bundle till they reach adulthood.

... it's your life... you have 20 years old, you are grown up. Sure they would want to give you some advice, but make sure that's all, because you are the one having a baby so you get to make your own decisions.
