first time father anxiety

Has anyone ever experienced a man having anxiety from your pregnancy that causes him to act out? What types of things did he do and say and what can be done to help him?

I forgot to mention, you need to be really patient with them, this is a real condition just like the mother's post partum depression. About 1 in 10 men/father's develop this at one point during the pregnancy. It's really not about them trying to run away from the responsibilities or not wanting the baby. It makes it even harder for them because they're expected to be "real men" but they are actually humans with emotions just like us.

Yes, my husband was like that at one point. Apparently there's such a thing called father's prenatal depression. Mine tried to hide it always coming up with all sorts of excuses for his moods and reactions. At one point he bursted out and told me that he feels guilty that he is terrified of the responsibilities that will come with this baby (we've been trying for over 3 years to get pregnant so I knew he definitely wants this baby) and everything else that was on his mind. This thing lasted for weeks and it coincided with the winter holidays. Talking (a LOT!) to him about this really helped. I am still not sure if he is 100% over it, or maybe he just wants to see me done with this pregnancy (39w 5d). Need to be careful.

What kind of acting out is he doing?  I mean, a little worry is worthy of sympathy, but if he is being a jerk, you should call him on it.
