Its a lug disease, im pretty sure. I have a couole friends thatwere born with it. They are constabtly in the hospital...not trying to freak you out. But im sure it will all be okay! Just think positive. They might be wrong!
I know you have to be a carrier for your child to get it and I know I am bc .y father has it. Bug my husband has no contact with his family. Should he be tested to see if he's a carrier
Cystic fibrosis is a scary thing and yes, will make your and your child life harder. That being said, don't panic. I worked with a girl who's teenage son has it and while he had health problems and is more sensitive to things like that in general, they've been able to manage it and he lives a very full life. Girls, dances, sports all of that.
Did they see something in the ultrasound? Or was it something in your blood work? Usually around 20w they do a blood test called the quad screen that tests for genetic markers (for downs, cystic fibrosis and a couple others). If you tested positive as a carrier for any of them they'll at least offer follow up testing. For cystic fibrosis in particular, they'll want to test the father. Both parents have to be carriers for the baby to have it, otherwise the baby will just grow up to be a carrier too.
Talk to your doctor about it some more. My biggest regret with my first pregnancy was not asking enough questions. But I hope I helped at least to ease your mind a tiny bit.
I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully they are wrong. But did you say your husband??? Not judging or anything just curious. You said u were 16 and your married?
I am very confus2d. You said that you didn't know what cystic fibrosis was one minute and then said your dad had it a minute later...
I don't know what out is exactly I just know my dad has it bc my mom told me that day. idk what it really does
