Gbs is found in 10% of women. And your baby has a 1% chance of contracting it during labor. Been researching gbs for two years now. And a membrane sweep is when they move their fingers around the mucus to your cervix to loosen it up for a natural start of labor.
Oh. 4th pregnancy and I still learn something new. Thanks hun.
Gbs is a bacterial infection that is found in 25% of healthy women. They test for it later in your pregnancy if you have it they just give you antibiotics threw your iv so it doesn't pass to baby. Although not harmful to you can be really bad for baby. A membrane sweep is where the Dr sweeps a finger under your cervix separating the amniotic sac from your cervix trying to induce labor.
Its a bacterial infection which just needs to be treated with antibiotics before giving birth.
Sorry moms pls what's gbs?
Don't feel stupid because I'll be waiting for more details also. Sweep??
Sorry To Ask, may sound stupid But What Is a sweep?
I had it with both my previous pregnancies and had sweeps done with both. Went into labor within a couple of days and they just give you a antibiotic through your iv. So nothing happened they take care of you.
