So I have feeling that I could have gestational diabetes. I use to eat healthy but then I got into coca cola Pepsi chocolate crisps and other bad food... i was reading about the signs and have all of them (well don't have trush) so was wondering if I get into healthy eating right away into I have chance  to get Ok before baby comes? I'm 33 weeks and really would like to have water birth so need to be Ok before baby comes!! I'm really scared now and feel guilty :( I went to my midwife 2 days ago and said I had blued vision and I'm achy and I gad high blood pressure so she said I might have kidney problem and said to do blood test I'm gonna know results in about 2 weeks tho.. but I'm not happy with my midwife anyway didn't told me 2 appointments ago that mu blood pressure  was high as well and my belly mesurments go a bit higher than should ( I saw it in r he book she newer said anything to me) just worried a bit :(

Oh yes, the most important thing to watch out for are sudden swelling of the feet, ankles, hands and/or face. Not the normal pregnancy swelling.

I think it can wait until your next appointment if last time they didn't decide to keep you for more tests. Just in case you notice any other symptoms (headache, nausea) call your doctor immediately.

Just look up on google preeclampsia (it's some sci-fi stuff - doctors have bo idea what causes it), but if your pee was OK (no proteins) and your BP is not constantly over 140/90 even when resting, then you don't have it. But because preeclampsia can set on out of the blue, and there's not much you can do about it, I would go to a doctor's office/hospital and ask for a 24h urine test plus 24 BP monitoring - that's the only way to make sure of you have it or not. I am having weekly appointments at the hospital and doing daily urine dipstick tests at home to check for protein levels and at least 4 BP readings daily myself. If any of the above go out of range I was told my dr to call her on her cell phone immediately.

142/80 she said I had one like that few appointments ago and my blood pressure it's usually a bit high ( I had A LOT stress due to work issues I and stuff) my pee was fine at least that's what she said can you tell me about more about preeclampsia please? How did it happened with you and what did you had to change it....? And how do you monitor yourself? U see I don't work for a few months now so I'm at home all the time anyway... rarely go out ( midwife appointment shop) so I'm like on house rest anyways...

Actually based on your symptoms you might have preeclampsia. How high is your blood pressure? Did your midwife do a dipstick urine test? Did proteins show up? If your symptoms persist you should go to a doctor to start treatment for your condition. I don't want to scare you but if you do have preeclampsia it can be life threatening both for you and your baby. I was diagnosed with it 3 weeks ago, refused hospitalization and am on home bed rest. Since then everything is OK but I am monitoring myself at home several times a day (blood pressure and proteins in urine). I am now 37 weeks, so even I would need to be induced we'd both be fine.
