The diet actually helps you best if you write down What you eat everytime and you also write down your sugar level with it. You will notice certain food combos raise your sugar more. For instance, I ate a hot dog on a bun and a few fries and my sugar was around 135 after 2hrs..the nutritionist said after 2hrs it should be under 120 so I tried a different combo with the hot dog another time and it was 129. That being said, I know I souldnt havr anything else with the other dog because it raises my sugar.

Thisis my second time with it. As long as you stick to the meal plan they provide and your sugars stay low you'll be fine. My first was born full term at 7 lbs no sugar issues at all. The diet can be a little difficult to keep up but it is all worth it.

I had a consultation with a dietician hopefully you will too I have 3 timed meals and 3 timed snacks.  I fill in the middle with non starchy veggies  I have to test my glucose 4x a day.  I had gained a total of 19 lbs but lost 6 already.  Doctor said he is not concerned at all that only means I am eating healthier.  I have 19 more days to go.  Good luck hun!

I was told the same thing. Have been checking my blood sugar and its never gone above 135 so, Just keep track of it. You may only need to avoid sweets or may need to avoid sweets and carbs

If it's not monitired closely, it can cause preterm labor, also baby may be born large or have low blood sugar. Avoid sugary and starchy foods,(breads, pasta). It can usually be controlled by diet changes and you will need to check your blood sugar four times a day. I myself was just diagnosed a few weeks ago. It sounds worse than it is. Just stick with a meak plan and it should stay under control.
