Even if they were married they could get medical off one income if it feel under the guidelines.
You can get medical. If you were married it would be different, but you're not so they don't combine your incomes when determining eligibility.
I don't understand why you can't get medicaid if you're single.
I don't think with roommates they count "household income", because it isn't shared income. In some couples living together, it is shared, but in your case it isn't, and I think you can prove that with separate bank accounts, etc.
When your baby is born, though, he will have to pay child support (as well he should) and his income will then factor into welfare that you are entitled to.
There's no reason you shouldn't be able to get Medicaid. You're not applying for him, it is for you and your baby. If he is unwilling to help pay for the doctor costs right now, he has a lot coming to him once the baby is born. Call them and explain your situation if nothing else, but you shouldn't even have to do that. My boyfriend has a job but I don't and I am eligible for Medicaid.
If he is just uour boyfriend you can get medicaid. They go off your income. Not your household income
