The flu shots are always the last year's strain. Reasons why my family doesn't get it, when we use to get it we got sick now that we haven't gotten it in like 10yrs we haven't been sick with the flu. But it never covers new flu strains.

I got mine and haven't gotten sick. From the sound of it, I was very lucky! I would get it just incase anyways honestly.

Please just make sure to try and get ahead of it, stay hydrated, water and gatorade. Also ask your dr about tamiflu.   If it gets bad and you develop a fever or dehydration plz go to the er and don't let yourself get too sick. I let myself get too worn down and sick when I got it last month at 26 wks and was hospitalized for 9 days. Hope you feel better soon!!!

They no longer use live cultures for the flu vaccine, so it does not make you ill. However as already stated, this year's vaccine isn't compatible with the strain of flu that has been more dominate. Keep in mind also, we have a weakened immune system during pregnancy so it's easier for us to catch coodies.
Feel better soon.

This year's flu shot didn't cover the strain that actually broke out. My whole family had the flu in December. Being sick while pregnant is the worst. Feel better mama

Yes. I caught the flu and I have gotten the flu shot earlier in the season. I got a really bad fever and I was admitted into the hospital at 5 a.m.. Unfurtunately, there is not much they can do to help you battle the flu but give you fluids and Tylenol. Drink as much fluids as possible and take tylenol to keep your fever contained. Everything will be all right. :) My baby is doing well, everything is normal and I am feeling much better.
