hormones and pregnancy test after baby?

Hello ladies I just had my daughter 3 months ago & I still haven't got my period from after birth. My doctor said it's possible that I may not see my period for year because I'm breastfeeding. Well I decided I was ready to have sex again about 3 days ago and the dam condom broke. That's the only contraceptive we were using. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet since it's probably to early but my question is can the whole breastfeeding causing no period make me get a false positive or affect the pregnancy test in any way?

Yea I know that you could still get pregnant that's the reason we used a condom I just wasn't sure if it could affect the results of a pregnancy test since I haven't had my period yet but thank u ladies I'll be sure to take a test in a couple of weeks.

Breastfeeding can make ovulation and periods irregular but can't cause false positive on a pregnancy test.

Breast feeding does not mean you can't get pregnant.  My mom got pregnant with my sister while breastfeeding me and she hadn't gotten a period yet.

Ovulation and periods go hand in hand. If you ovulate and don't conceive you'll have a period. If take a test in a couple of weeks.

No that's not true breast feeding only prevents periods but u still ovulate like u would if ur having ur period. I was just reading the book to make sure that's what my professor said and yes breastfeeding could prevent periods but not pregnancy

I was told breath feeding is a bit like birth control. No period is no ovulating usually so I wouldn't worry but if you get a positive I'd get a blood test done by Dr to be sure

In the class I am taking in college I was told that if u r  breastfeeding u could possibly not get ur period the whole time ur breastfeeding but u still could get pregnant so if u test positive in couple weeks u could possibly be pregnant.
