how long did you keep working??

So my husband and I have to work as much as possible, neither one of us make a ton of money. I am just over 35 weeks and I work at a fast paced, busy restaraunt. It's not easy,  I come home completely wiped out and sore. Just wondering what the average was for stopping work?  I wanna try to do up to 39 weeks, I don't want to be a wimp. But I am really starting to be exhausted.

My sil works in a deli in a grocery store. She's working until the 9th and then having her csection on either the 14th or 15th. She basically did the same thing with the first 2 babies, except she was a family practice nurse at that time. She also usually goes back to work before she should lol

I'm ready to quit now...lol.  Unfortunately I don't qualify for delay so I have to work as long as my body can take it. I'm 33 weeks and work as a nurse. I'm sore and tired at the end of my shift.  I only get 6 weeks off so I am trying to save that time for the baby and resting.

My first - I was single - so I needed every bit of money I could save up before hand and needed to save my vacation time. I worked 43+ hours at a Daycare with school age kids on my feet most of the time - I worked up until the night before my scheduled c-section. It was rough. I came home exhausted, hungry and sore, but I wasn't really in a position I could not work. So I get it, if there is a way though between you and your husband that you can swing taking off sooner - it may help you feel better.

Hope something works out for you : )

I'm a ftm and my last day of work ill be 38+2. ( just a little over 2 weeks away-yay!) I think it all depends on you and how your feeling. I honestly could keep working up until I went in to labor but my work situation is unique and I need to have someone trained and dates set in stone . Listen to your body and ask your doctor for his/her input.

For my first baby I got lucky and I wasn't working...now that I'm pregnant with my second I work ft in a office and  I'm planning to work all the way up to 39 weeks. If everything goes well and if my doctor doesn't put me in bed rest. Hope it helps.

I stopped at 38 weeks because I was just getting too sore after being on my feet all day. Was going to be induced at 39 weeks anyway

With my first I worked, as a dental hygienist, all the way up until my water broke. I was 8 days early and my water broke at home. I felt working until it was go time was actually nice because it kept me busy and from worrying about labor and delivery concerns. My body was also doing pretty well though, minus bad sciatic nerve pain here and there. I think it's really up to how you feel and what you think you can handle. Just listen to your body and go from there.

I worked up until the very day I had my daughter. I worked my 8 hours then went in to be induced after work at 40weeks. Glad I worked till the last minute... I ended up having a Cesarean and still had to go back to work before I was healed after 5 weeks.

I waited tables with my first and took off 10 days before my due date. My daughter decided to come 2 weeks late!!! Because I had taken so much time off just waiting for her I had to go back to work when she was 11 days old !

I'm 34 weeks in, my doctor said usually women take off by week 36 but it's up to you. I would not advise going for it to 39 weeks however...
