depression anyone?

Some days I just feel sad, don't want to get out of bed, go to work, eat, even shower or do anything other then lay in bed....I'm 22 weeks 6 days...can this affect my baby? I know that I can't really take any meds for it but is there anything else that might help? Does anyone else feel like this or am I alone?

aww this post made really feel for you..my family have a strong history if depression..ive been on meds for 4 years and at some points been in the maximum dose and i thought id never get off them..but i am now and doing really well..my sister however had postnatal depression and has been on antidepressants since it was diagnosed..she is pregnant again now and stikk in her meds..she was told by the dr that the benefits outweighed the possible issues caused by taking the medication..im glad shes taking them as her postnatal depression was horrible to see..i know it has no easy fix so if u need the meds speak to ur dr..good luck to you..i hope things improve :)

You dont tell someone with cancer or food poisoning to suck it up. Its a medical condition. Not a frame of mind lol. :-)

Thank you for giving me good info and not judging me...most people are very judgie when it come to depression, they think you can just simply "get over it" like it's a stubbed toe where it'll hurt for a minute and then go away.

I totAlly understand... ive struggled with major depressive and anxiety disorder since I was 13. My brains just wired that way unfortunately.... I stopped all meds when I found out I was pregnant.. spoke to my doc about it. She says meds can be safe and some people just need them. Dont get down on yourself. Tell your doc how your feeling. If your feeling that down id personally recommend trying a low dose med but your the mommy. Your choice. Dont let anyone alter your decision. Im getting back on mine at my next visit because I believe ill be a better mother to my child with some endorphins flowing. This choice doesnt make you weak if you decide to be medicated. Makes you responsible for listening to your body. Follow your intuition momma.

I force myself up every day and its getting more and more difficult. I was on Zoloft before I got pregnant and once i became pregnant my Dr recommended that I try to cut my dose which I have cut it down totally and I Dont want to be on them forever so I'm trying to stay off them, I'm just afraid that my being depressed now will make me more vulnerable for post pardom depression?

You can try some tough love on yourself and force yourself up sometimes showers colder than normal help me as well as vitamin d it helps being outside sunshine or you can get a uvb bulb ( semi cheaper to buy at a pet store ) to fake sunlight it helps naturally relieve depression.

I definitely feel depressed but its because I haven't been working so I just sit at home alone all day everyday. Even when people are here I am so used to being lonely and depressed I don't feel like talking to anyone. I'm 33 weeks. I wouldn't resort to medication, especially while pregnant. Just take the days you need to yourself but try to stay positive and know your bundle of joy will be here soon.

I'm pretty sure Zoloft is safe to take while pregnant. Talk to your doctor.
