I'm 16 nd my boyfriend older than me, he 23 , my due date is January 15 he wants to be there with me when I give birth,  but I'm kinda worried,  he so excited nd his family to,  I want him to be there with me too but I don't want him to get in trouble,  I just don't want him to nothings to happen to him I really love him Nd he loves me to, nd  his family Nd my family are okay with it ,

I live in Texas also,  and I've worked with mentoring pregnant girls.

I can tell you from a practical standpoint,  there are municipalities and jurisdictions that won't pursue any charges against this man in this kind of incident,  if the parents are okay with this relationship.

The thing is,  she's old enough for her parents to consent for her to marry,  so she's old enough for her parents to consent to sex.

But some jurisdictions will deal with this differently.

I once reported a 13 year old pregnant girl missing because her family didn't do it,  and the sheriff called me back and said no problem,  they found her,  as they all suspected she was living with her 22 year old boyfriend.  I'm not making this up. :(

I live in Texas also and my sister got pregnant at 16 and her boyfriend was 21 they didn't say anything to her about there age diffrence he signed the birth certificate and was in the delivery room and stayed with her at the hospital till she got out and they had no problem with that ....my mom wasn't to happy about it but like she said she rathers him help her with the baby instead of be locked up and have her do it by her self ....

Yes he can get on trouble. Anyone can turn him in. The state will press charges even without the victim wanting them. The laws are in place to protect children, which you are. There is a giant difference between 23 and 16. Anybody who says that there isn't needs to think about the person they were at 16 and the person they were at 23 and can see the difference. I know many teenage mom's who have done right by their children and gone on to make a good life for themselves unfortunately that is not the norm. The age difference is so large that your parents who gave their consent could even be charged for neglect and abuse (I have seen it happen). You don't want negative comments but you have to understand that they will come.

Not judging just extending a warning. Anyone can report him, regardless of parental consent.  What I would do is talk to a lawyer and see what the laws in your state are and how to prceed. I know in NH,  as a nurse I would be expected to report an adult having sex with a minor. But the age of consent varies from state to state.  But I would definitely check it out to cover yourselves.

In a situation such as this,if both parties parents are fine with it then that's cool... Now its the matter of how to get him there to see the birth of y'all baby... I have to options one if he looks young for his age take him but don't let him show any ID say he don't have any... Or let him say that he is ur brother

Sorry I had more to say. My comment came off a little harsh. But I do not believe he can be locked up unless the parents or you report him. I think you guys will be okay. You guys shouldn't have anything to worry about

How will they know he is the babu daddy? No one is walking around asking who had sex with u and there age. He should be there.

I would suggest taking some premarital counseling to help with concerns about the age issue. Even if marriage isn't something your looking for, taking steps to building a lasting relationship really couldn't hurt it might also show any concerned person's that you two are committed for the long haul and I also believe that if the father is a good man and wants to be involved he should be there for there for the birth. 17 is the age of consent in Texas.

If both of your families continue to be okay with this relationship,  it's unlikely charges will be filed for statutory rape against your boyfriend.

I don't know whether I'd force the issue and have him there at the birth,  where lots and lots of doctors and nurses and social workers are there and any one of them could decide to call law enforcement.

Honestly,  I'd seek legal advice at this point.
