is it safe?

So my last doctors appointment my doctor gave me a prescription for iron pills but I misplaced it I don't have another doctors appointment until Wednesday I'm gonna call on Monday to ask my question but is it safe to take over the counter iron pills are they just about the same thing? I feel so silly asking this but I've always had an issue with low iron I guess I'm kinda anemic and I feel like If he said I need iron iro should be taking the iron pills

I was told my the pharmacist that it was. Cause when i went to put in my prescription for.iron pills my insurance didnt cover it so he gave me over the counter ones. I asked my doctor as well and he said they where fine. But if you're not comfortable on taking them at first just call and ask your.doctor just to be sure
