kitty litter

So I've noticed in various places that Kitty litter is bad for a pregnant women to breath in because of the toxins or something but I'm moving in with my bf this weekend and he has a cat and two litter box's one up stairs in our bathroom and one downstairs.  Should I just avoid changing it out and make him do it or start buying more sand like Kitty litter?

I change my cats liter box. I just wear disposable gloves and cover my nose and mouth. I wash my hands when I'm finished.

Thats crap. you are fine and you can clean your cats litter box. The reason they say its not safe for pregnant women to clean cats poop  is because of the bacteria called toxoplasmosis that is found in cats stool. You can only get that bacteria if you pick the cats poop with your bare hands and eat afterwards or touch your mouth without washing your hands not by breathing it in. (If you get the poop inside your mouth) The only way your cat can have that bacteria is she feeds with raw meat that has that bacteria or if she eats mice or other rodents. If your cat is an inside cat she cant have the bacteria unless of course you are the one feeding her with raw meat or have rodents inside the house that she can catch. But in either way, just wash your hands properly after cleaning your cats litter and you will be fine.

Its the cat poop that you can't be around and the litter. You don't need to touch it at all. It can cause you to miscarry.
