I'm a senior in highschool and there is a HUGE lice outbreak. We only have about 300 people in my school. And my boyfriends sister has it now. I left early from school as soon as I found out it was going around. But she was in his car and he was driving her. I made him change before he came in but I'm sure they can live in his car.. I'm freaking out so bad. Im about to refuse to go to school for the rest of the week. I'm not about to get lice while pregnant. Especially since I'm due in 10 weeks and I JUST finished washing EVERYTHING. and I'll have to all over again if it gets in my house. Omfg. I'm pissed off and I don't even have it. As far is I know. I had my dad check me 3 times and I've checked tons...

Coconut oil is a good way to get rid of it too. If you get it just soak a towel in melted coconut oil and put a ton in your hair, wrap your hair with the towel and leave it like that over night then wash your hair with dish soap. Works first try every time. And smells better than mayonnaise.

I use a tea tree shampoo everyday to prevent lice when I worked in childcare and because it helps with dandruff.  I used olive oil lotion (in hair care aisle) and put it in all day under a shower cap. End of the day washed it out and had hubby comb my hair with a lice comb. I got it from my nieces when they stayed over one night in my first trimester. Retreat every two to three days

Tea tree oil is a natural repellant. So is lavender oil. You can put a couple drops in your conditioner and use it every day

Thanks ladies.. I'll seriously injure someone if I get it... I'm soooo ocd... and freaked out by this.. If I'd get it I'd pry rescrub every single thing we own AMD wash everything all over again Cruz I'm a freak...

If you keep your hair in a ponytail its less likely that youll catch it if you do mix some olive oil and tea tree oil together and pit on your hair for an hour

I know it *****. But its just lice. And if you do get it. A good way to get rid of it is mayonnaise on your hair like tons of it and keep it on for a couple hrs the lice will suffocate and die. Its better than all those nasty chemicals.

And you have to have head-to-head contact to get it from someone.

Lice can't live off of hair for more than 24 hours I think.
