loss of apetite

I'm 18+4 weeks and have had a perfect pregnancy so far. But over the last few days I've noticed a decrease in my appetite. I just don't want to eat. Is this normal? It makes me paranoid because I'm yet to feel bub move and am losing weight because I'm not eating because of not being hungry :/

It's possible that your body just doesn't need as much as it wanted earlier, and now you can eat less. If you don't feel sick or have diarrhea or nausea and you feel satisfied with the amount you are eating, then it's probably just a phase. If you're worried, talk to your Dr. If you start to lose weight, talk to your Dr. But most women in western civilization have enough fat stores that a decrease in appetite for a short time during pregnancy should not have any I'll effect on their baby.

That's the strange part, I have just as much energy and feel just as good as I did before pregnancy and I'm not constipated - I'm more regular if anything. I never had morning sickness so I haven't been turned off any foods. I try to snack through the day but it makes me feel crappy. I'm keeping up with my fluid intake, just can't seem to get my appetite going again :/ I work in pharamcy so will see what my pharmacist says and I work right across the road from my doctor. so it looks like I may have to see her today. thanks again ladies xx

Have u been constipated? Because a few weeks ago I also notice a loss of appetite. At the same time I was really constipated. I did the things my doc advised me to do for constipation and began to get my appetite back. Now I want to eat even more. Good luck with everything.

Pls speak to your midwife or doctor, try & eat something little & often, such as smoothies with yogurt, fruits, oats. Homemade Salads with protein, a sandwich, nuts. Focus on healthy nutritious foods, the baby really needs this at this time, it will take from u what it needs but u will feel like crap unless u eat well. All the best to u sweetie xx

Thanks ladies. I've tried eating but just can't. If I force myself to eat I feel sick. I'll definitely bring it up at my antenatal if it doesn't correct itself very soon.
Everyone just makes me feel like I'm such a horrible person and that I'm intentionally depriving my child of food/nutrients, which is most definitely not the case.
