She asked for an opinion. Amour is french for love. Your daughter will be
DREAM LOVE/AMOUR. This does sound like a stage character name....or a stripper name. Have you considered Dream as a middle name combined with some family members names that are a bit more mainstream? You could give her a more mainstream legal name but call her Dream as a nick name....when she is older, she can legally change her first name to Dream if she still likes it, and if kids are teasing her about Dream as a nickname, she will be able to at 12, 13, 14, 16 etc. choose to use her legal .a instead name.

My husband's last name is BIGOFF. Proud Russian name but I struggle to find first and middle names that will allow it to be strong vs.sounding like a joke....
Grandpa first name is Isadore. Grandma middle name Marie. Thinking if it is a girl I will go with Isabella Marie Bigoff. She can shorten her fist name to Isabelle if she wants later, but I will -probly call her Bella....I like the name Bella very much  but can't see legally naming her
Bella Bigoff LOL!

My last name is Johnson

I will not strap my kid with the hyphen name "Johnson-Bigoff" since some people use "johnson" as another slang term for a penis.

You asked opinions....we do not want to hurt your feelings but if we are not honest with you now, your kid could suffer later.

Names are getting more unusual as the years go by so I say go for it. If it's a name you love and you don't have any second guesses about it, use it. She's YOUR daughter and no one should influence you on what YOU want to name her. Congratulations and good luck.

Ladies remember don't get upset she asked for opinions so just because they don't agree doesn't mean they wrong...my opinion no I wouldn't name my child dream ...they don't stay a child forever she will become an adult in 18 years and employment may be difficult with that name

I'm not a fan of the name at all. I'd literally change my name as an adult because it would embarrass me to tell people that was my real name. I'm sorry. You asked for opinions and that's mine. And people aren't pervs for saying it sounds like a stripper name....it's just truthful. It would be like naming your kid chastity or cherry or diamond lol they are all stripper names.

It is stripper-esque like a fake stage name.  It kinda sounds like 1960-70s drug induced name--like naming your kid Star or Love cuz they were conceived the summer you followed the grateful dead around.

I'm sure you'll choose whatever sounds right to you.  I think you should practice some sentences with all names.

Dream Amour is beautiful! And very very different bt i Love it...people are talking about she wont be able to get a job and this and that by the time our kids are able to have jobs there are going to be so many people with odd names in the fields already for example you have beyonce with blue ivy ,kim k with north west people naming their baby colors and cars and girls having boy names whose to say what your child can and can not be because in my eyes my child will be based on his character and not his name and if you let someone bully a child over there name then you are failing as an Role Model! For the person who said "dream" and "amour" are words ok? Rose is a plant and Winter is a season but there also very beautiful kid names !

I wasn't trying to be mean or anything! Just honost people can be mean! And they look at the first name all the time in job applications. I think dream or amour is a beautiful middle name or like someone said give them more of a perfessional middle name they can use. Winter grace by the way is beautiful!!! I absolutely love it!!

All the people saying she couldn't be a teacher, doctor, lawyer.....how many of these professionals go by their first name while on the job?  I've never called my Dr by her first name.

I love a unique name. My only suggestion is considered a more normal middle name so if she doesn't love it she has viable alternative to go by.   My little girl will be Winter Grace. We really consider some unique middle names to but in the end felt it best for her to have a more normal backup in case she doesn't love her name as much as we do.  I've talked to many people with unique names that struggled with loving their name during their late childhood but love it now that the are adults.  But I have a very normal name and I hated it for being boring as a kid so I think it can go either way no matter how unique  or normal the name.

Don't let what others say change your thoughts of what you want to name baby girl. its 2014 time for change. I still love it after all the comments.  Dream  amour can be a doctor, lawyer & all that. It's still pretty & unique to me.

Currently,  there are SO MANY parents choosing to name their children really unusual/completely unique names.  Some of them are just collections of letters in a string,  and some of them are words,  and many of them you can't tell what gender they are.

I wonder if this creativity might be channeled into parents renaming themselves really unusual names?  Because having an odd name is a hardship.  I wonder if parents who name babies completely unusual/unspellable/unpronouncable names might just name themselves that and give their child a name everyone likes and knows?

That way you'd get the creative outlet and the child won't have to bear the burden of this.
