low iron

I'm 25+ weeks and my iron is low the doc prescribed me prescription iron pills but they make me sick. Does anyone else have this problem? How dangerous is it for me to do nothing??

Mine made me sick for a week or two keep taking them and your stomach will get used to them. Taking them has made a huge positive change in my energy levels as well

It's very important for you to take your tablets, I've been on them my most of my pregnancy and have just finished them and finally my levels are good again. Not only do you and your baby both need iron during your pregnancy, low iron can also increase blood loss after birth (I know this cause I've bleed so much after both my other labours, docs are concerned and my iron is checked regularly).

Iron transports the oxygen in your and your babys body so it's very important to take the pills. I also take them before going to bed.

My doctor told me when i got prescribed my iron pills to try and take them at night before you go to bed and so far it's helped me a lot. Hope it helps you to! (:
