low platelet count

My doc office called and said that my blood platelet count was low and that I needed to come back in two weeks to get it checked again. Has this happen to anyone else during pregnancy? What is your experience with this?

Thank yall for your comments! This isn't my first pregnancy but I've never heard of this condition before. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. :/

My.cousin just went into labor tonight and because her count was so low she couldn't get an epidural at all, all natural and painful but her baby girl was born healthy like 10 minutes ago!

When I was pregnant with my son I had low platelets and my midwife told me that if my platelets were too low I couldn't get an epidural because I could bleed to death, and if I needed to get a c cection then I would have to get put to sleep. If you have low platelets and get the epidural or a c cection you could bleed to death because platelets in outposts help clot the blood together
