mat pay help?!?!?!?!?!?!

I'm just wondering if I'm entitled to any mat pay I started his job 4 weeks before I got pregnant. I am on bank so zero contracted hours but I did sign a contract? am I entitled to maternity pay?

I dont know if its every where anymore but I didnt think there was maternity pay anymore. Ive been at my job 8 years and my leave is unpaid.

If you live in the u.s. it depends on the company you work for. They don't legally have to pay you during maternity leave.they do have to hold your position open for at least 6 weeks (or more depending on your state)

I dont think yourl be entitled to anything its the same here in england u have to be working for the company for 19 weeks before your entitled to maternity pay or something like that..... unless its competely different there

Hi there.  Well, that really depends on who you work for.  If you are hourly, there is often no maternity pay.  You need to call the HR person for your employer and talk about your benefits.  If they don't have that, then talk to your supervisor or THEIR supervisor.  Entitled is something that doesn't really apply if it wasn't set up as part of your employment package.  My company when I had my first had a policy in place regarding maternity leave.  While I didn't care when I started working, when I got pregnant, I looked it up and there it was.  I wasn't entitled to anything more or less than their set policy.  good luck

Oh, you can take family medical leave though and have your job protected for 3 months if you live in the US.  This doesn't guarantee any pay but you can come back to work.  good luck

Hi, from what I've read on line, it is dependent in the UK as well regarding the policies of your employer.  You have to check with them specifically to see what you will get.  good luck

Yes im sure its something like that dont quote me on it tho its confusing lol it could be different there but here in the UK its like this.... i get 90% of my wage for the first 6 weeks then after that i get £138 a week for the rest of my maternity leave here we get paid 9 months maternity we can have upto a year out of work but only get paid 9 months of it

In california some work places ur required to have worked 12months before being elegible, call ur hr. Manager asap or even state disability since their the ones actually paying u

in the uk if ur not entitled to maternity pay you should still be entitled to maternity leave..unpaid but could claim maternity allowance depending on ur earnings previously..check the .gov.uk link posted above and it should tell you everything..
