measuring a week early

I'm so confused to how pregnancy even works. Don't get me wrong it's a Beautiful, life changing experience. But I hear and learn all these different things and can't help but to wonder... I am and lls FTM I'm currently 25 weeks today. However,  technically I'm measuring at 26 weeks. How does this determine my due date if I'm told one day but I measure a whole week ahead? I'm due in May. May 30th if I'm 25 weeks. And May 23rd if I'm 26 weeks. I'm so lost lol.

All best guesses, babies come when they want anyway.

Due dates are estimates. Nobody knows (aside from IVF or intense fertility treatments) what day you concieved. So Dr's are just doing their best to guess. There's clues - ultrasound, fundal height, last menstrual period - but those are just clues and guesses. Don't have your heart set on a "due" date because it's a best "guess" date.

Some women also have shorter pregnancies, some carry for longer. So you can't plan a date that your baby will be here. Baby cones when baby wants!
