I always have trouble thinking of names that dont sound too harsh or grown up for babies/toddlers! My girls name is Olive and it seemed harsh when she was soo tiny and delicate but she is totally an Olive now. Hubby wanted George for this boy originally but i had a hard time imagining myself telling George to get his finger out of his nose! I have a few weeks left to see what we decide! I hate that you have to choose a name when you are pregnant and tired and emotionally all over the place!
I think it's a cute name. I myself always worry about a name being "too cute" as in can you picture an adult with the name taken serious in a professional setting. They unfortunately don't stay babies they grow up on us ;( and as for the mother in law you'll never make her happy so I wouldn't worry too much lol
Honestly with no offense, it does make me think of a gun and does sound violent to me and more like a toddler nickname maybe. However each name is unique , what's important is what you feel about it.
Thanks ladies! No offense taken. Thats why i came here! My siblings love it. Motherinlaw says sounds violent but she says name him whatever we want. Sister in law just flatout said no! Lol. I wish you could please everyone.
I love it! Love names like gunner and Hunter
Im leaning more towards old fashioned names myself
Please don't be offended by what I say but I agree I think gun as well the name itself reminds me a bit of a hillbilly/ red neck kind of person who was nicknamed that sorry not a fan
Makes me think of "gunny" agent gibbs nickname from being in the marines (:
It immediately made me think of a gun. Or calling someone a gunner as a nickname. Makes me think of hunting or something. But whatever name you choose it will fit him. i like tyson.
They will love him no matter what but i just needed unbiased opinions! I dont want it to be associated with guns though and wondered if people immediately though that! Naming a human is soo hard! I like Tyson! You could also call him Ty which i love. I have 2 cousins named Ty so not an option for me!
I know a boy named Gunner. I like the name. Your relatives are going to love your son and therefore his name will eventually just fit him and be loved too. My hubby and I are in same boat. We both are agreeing on Tyson Jay (will call him TJ) but I'm afraid people are going to think of Mike Tyson and not like it.
