Yes, I've been trying to think of something a bit more grown up and I've made suggestions to my husband and gone through lists of names online but my husband isn't budging,  he's such a sweetie but he's really being stubborn and not considering anything else! At first I thought he would eventually budge but now I'm getting annoyed.

In the 60s, there were a lot of Billie (girl), Bobbi, Becky and Betty, Billie being short for Wilhemina I would guess, and Bobbi being short for Roberta.  I know a Roberta Catherine born then who went by Bobby Cay until she grew up and became a nun.  If you do choose Bobbi, it might be a good idea to make it a nickname for something more formal, in case little Bobbi ever wants to run for president.

Hi there.  Ya know, one thing we did, my husband and I, was make a list of names each and then looked at each other's names.  We crossed off names from each other's list that we didn't like at all.  then we had one list with our combined names.  If you like the name but don't love it, then don't name your child that.  Make it a middle name.  That's what we did for my second son.  My husband's chosen name is his middle name and we picked a first name that we both felt strongly about.

good luck

Hi I'm 5 weeks, 27 yrs old(according to my last menstrual period) and this is my first ! I took my test Thursday last week and tested positive.  My husband and I are so excited ! I have been cramping every night ever since my test...mostly feels like menstrual cramps. Is this normal? I also had crazy dizzy spells last night while I was sleeping. My first initial appt is scheduled Monday with my ob/gyn. Thanks ! Nice to have all of you guys to,talk to about this.

I don't LOVE the name. But I can see it be a little more charming with an old fashioned style middle name. Like
Bobbi mae
Bobbi ann
Bobbi sue
Bobbi are or something like that.
My mother's name is Barbara and as a kid she went by bobbi ann (her middle name) but just go with what feels right for ya'll.  Maybe you can find a name you both love and compromise :)

I grew up with  girl named Bobbi. I love it. Everyone we knew loved it as well, and Bobbi was pleased to have a unique name. It suited her so well.

In the Netherlands it is also the name of a very famous porn star (woman), apparently, though i Dont know if it would get the same association at the place you live. I assume not :) just pick the one you love otherwise you will regret.

Kt6 I'm due in feburary,  I like the name Rebecca also but my husband doesn't like Becky. One Of my other favs was Nina but I do like a lot of names starting with V or kinda more country/Southern names. But I think we will end up with Bobbi as my husband loves it so much and I would feel bad letting him down on this because he is so excited
