Is it strange to use a name a friend has for their child? Her child is 5 or 6 so hes not a baby

My partner and i are in the same situation. He loves this name that my old best friend named his kid. I just cant do it. Pp is right no one owns the name but personally i cant name my kid the same. Looks weird as to me.

I wouldnt but it is up to you.  Think about how You would feel if the roles were reversed and your friend used your child's name.  Maybe ask your friend too.
