Hey mommies I am a ftm but I already know I want a natural birth no meds the only thing is I have a low to medium tolerance for pain. How did you deliver naturally and what techniques did you use?

I went natural with both mine and it wasnt easy but definitely the best thing for me  I used gas and air to help control my breathing and it really worked. Its not that I wanted to feel the pain at all but no epidural is meant to be safest for baby and mummy with a much quicker recovery time..  but dont get me wrong it hurts so much. Some people were quite nasty saying I omly did it to show off and act the hero but thats not the case  I did wat felt right for me.

I had my first all natural with no meds...The only think that was a pain was the contractions but if you can just keep telling yourself that it'll be all over soon then you will be okay.
I was only in labor for about 19hours. The contractions didn't start hurting till about the 15th hour. I tore naturally but didn't even feel it or notice until after the baby was out and the doctor said i needed stitches. And pushing the baby out wasn't painful either,  because the contractions over powered everything else. I think the contractions are what makes women want pain meds, but like i said keep telling yourself that it'll be over soon and you will be okay. I didn't take any classes or anything to prepare myself because I'm a firm believer that the same thing doesn't always work for everyone.
And the recovery process with having an all natural and med free birth is much quicker then anything any other way. I was moving around on my own within hours. And when i went home i was doing everything on my own except bending down and heavy lifting. Due to the fact i wasn't sure what would happen if i tried, but by the 4th day i was fine doing heavy lifting, cleaning, walking, cooking, all that stuff.
If you can have an all natural birth i say go for it. I think all women should have their first all natural if possible.  But that's my opinion.  And i know every women is different and experience different things. I'll be having another all natural birth with this child, she is will be my second child in 12yrs. And as long as everything goes well ill be having a natural birth.

At the beginning we did a lot of walking.  And used a labor ball.  Since I made a birth plan to go natural I requested a tub room at the hospital and had priority.  I lovec laboring im the tub with the jets and shower head. It seemed to progress me and give me more comfort.  Just go in determined and know you can do this!

My last birth was an unmedicated VBAC. I didnt take any child birth or labor classes. I just kept telling my self to work with the contractions not against them. I walked a lot and was able to labor some in a birthing tub. I took each contraction at a time.  I had Hallucinations according to my husband. I lost myself in what I was doing and let my body do what it needed. The biggest tip I can give you if you want an unmedicated birth is to go to the hospital at the last possible second.  Find an amazing doula to help manage the pain. Also if you can make it to 7cm with no meds you can make it the whole way. Good luck!

With my first I got epidural and needed forceps my waters broke the day before he was born also needed to be cut. With my second I only had her on the 20th of this month and I didn't have anything apart from pethidine on her she came that quick once my waters broke I had to push it just all happened so fast my partner nearly missed it she tore me coming out aswell. I recommend listening to your midwifes and really focus on what your body is telling you you will no exactly when to push and have good support with you. I wish you look hunni you can do it. X
