Depression

I'm hoping to seek some advice. I am 24 weeks pregnant and during my last doctors visit, she told me that I may be suffering from depression, and suggested that I be prescribed Zoloft and to see a therapist. I don't believe that my days are completely awful, yes I'm a bit down and I'm losing sleep, but that's about it. Me feeling down in the dumps feels the same as PMSing and having a bad day. I know it's my hormones because I have never had any history or family history with depression. I refuse to take medication because that's too risky, I'm just wondering if any other ladies are going through or have gone through mild sadness during pregnancy, and I'm hoping to hear any tips or advice on brightening my mood.

Pregnancy is hard and depressing. There situational relevant depression and then depression, with pregnancy those feelings can be normal but because tv etc shows us pregnancy is supposed to be this big great fantastical event it can make us even more down. Personally because I have had depression in the past I have a line that if it gets crossed I know I need actual help. For me that's where I start zoning out, stop leaving the house, can't find enjoyment in things I always find enjoyment with and when I feel like running away. If I feel like that and can't pull myself out me and my husband know its time for help.
Can you see a counsellor? There's even some online. Sometimes just talking through things can lift the sadness.

Im 11 weeks pregnant and I feel the same way some days. I know im supposed to be happy but I cant help it and break down for the simplest things. I live in Florida with no family because they all live in Ny and boy do I feel lonely. You're not alone girl hang in there days will get better. I do not recommend taking meds because youre body gets used to them and not only that it will be passed to your baby. What I do that helps is take 10 to 15 minute walks outside and breath fresh air.

I'm 22 weeks and have been feeling pretty down too lately. I haven't told anybody about it because I don't want people to judge me and make me feel bad. I'm really happy about my son and I can't wait to hold him and kiss him but I just don't feel like myself and for some reason I just can't seem to shake it :/ everyday just feels like its dragging on. It'll get better when baby comes :)
