Im 16 weeks and so badly want to breastfeed. Does anyone have any tips on how to desensitize my nipples?  I hear breast feeding can be painful at the beginning

Yes it does hurt at first but it gets better once your milk comes in at least it did for me.
What I did to prepare ahead of time was playing with the nipple & massaging the breast. I also bought a cream you can use on your breast before & after your pregnancy. My daughter made my skin crack & bleed the cream helped heal that up. you don't have to wash off the cream when you breastfeed so that's a plus.
I also let my hubby suck on my breast I know it may seem or sound weird but it honesty helped a lot & my doctor even recommended it Lol.

I've read up that by toughening up your nipples you can stand in the sun for about 5min every day so that the uv rays can penetrate your skin, and not through a window. I'll be 36weeks on Friday and will start doing that everyday before baba gets here. Don't use any chemicals as this won't help, try not to moisturise the nipples too much as it will soften it up and make sure to give your nipples enough ventilation. Another smart tip I've read is after breast feeding, use the little bit of milk and rub it onto your cracked or sore nipples, leave it open to dry and try not to use breast pads with a plastic liner as this will keep your breasts soggy and sensitive. If you absolutely need to use nipple creams, don't over do it, just a little goes a long way. Hope that helped :)

I would pinch my nipples and twist them in between my fingers going back and forth not like a titty twisters though lol. I thought it would help it kinda did.
