ondansetron odt/generic for zofran

Has anyone taken this for nausea? Its generic for zofran which has some medical lawsuits due to it causing clef pallet and heart defects in babies. I was given one at the hospital yesterday after my ob sent me bc of a pain in my side and really bad vomiting. And now I have a prescription for it. The side effects list is soo long. It says to talk to your doctor to see if the benefits out weigh the risks. Now I don't even want to take it. :( I'm not sure what to do. I have morning sickness but it's not always that bad.

I wouldn't take it. I was prescribed it in the beginning of my pregnancy not knowing about what it can do to my baby. I took one and while I'm sitting there after it kicked im thinking wow this really helped when one of those commercials came on about it causing cleft pallet heart defect and so on. I never took another one. I'd rather deal with the sickness than worry about something being wrong with baby girl.

I wouldn't take it for my 1st pregnancy I took it and I lost my baby a month later, also my brothers wife was taking it and their daughter was born was heart problems she had to get surgery at 2 weeks old and at 4 months she passed away. She recently passed away on July 24th this is all fairly new. I work in a pharmacy and even the pharmacist lets pregnant patients know that this medication is high risk meds.... I just found out I was pregnant and I wouldn't take it ever again!!!

Ive taken it since i was 8 weeks. 31 wks now and baby looks great.
