Coming from a cosmetologist (me) yes you can dye your hair you can even perm your hair the dye is on the outside of your body for one so unless you have an open wound there is no threat to the baby and you can use any dye you just should be in a well vena layed room and you should wait until your second trimester because the dye might not stay in your first. People who use ammonia free colors don't have to be in well ventilated areas because the chemicals aren't really terrible to breathe in but if you are scrotical about dying your hair that's why pregnant woman use ammonia free dyes. But as long as you aren't high risk or otherwise directed not to by your doctor go for it. I've dyed my hair 3 times and one of them was just a month ago and I'm 38 weeks.

I get my husband to trim it with his hair clippers, number one. Nice and neat,no risk of infection. Shaving can lead to ingrown hairs and they are so sore, can't imagine that while being preggers.

I'm 18 weeks. So dying my hair would be fine as long as its in a ventilated area and there is no amonia?

Yes you can just make sure your in a well ventilated area and I suggest waiting until after your first trimester when your hormones aren't so crazy because when your hormone levels are to high there's a chance your color won't stay in your hair.
