Hi ladies.  I am very new here. Is it normal to have cramps at 4 weeks? I've read it is.... but tell me your experience.  Thank you!

Im 8 weeks and when i was 4 weeks... before i knew i was pregnant i cramped thinking it was my period starting. But it never came. It goes away and my dr told me that as long and there is no blood i was fine. It should stop. It means your uterus is stretching.

Cramping can be normal. I didn't have any with my first but I am in my 9th week woth my second and ive cramped a lot so far. Doc says its just the baby growing and stretching. I also has a c section with my first so there is scar tissue and my uterus is slightly tilted so that are possible factors too. If baby is where its supposed to be and not in a tube and your not bleeding then its most likely just growing pains.

I had cramps too throughout the first trimester. It felt like I was on my period. I'm sure it's normal.

I had period like cramps all the way up to 7 weeks an they hurt pretty bad but my doctor told me its normal like its not common but its not bad unless you have any amount of blood with it then you should go to the doctor.

Good! Probably normal then. In addition, I think at 4 weeks the embryo is implanting into the uterine wall. So, that may be what you are feeling.

Yes and no. Are you spotting/bleeding as well? It not, the cramping is probably normal. If you are, this can be normal, or could indicate a problem. If you are spotting/bleeding, call an obgyn and/or ask to speak to his/her nurse to describe your symptoms and get some feedback. If they cannot fit you in for an apppintment, they should direct to urgent care. Urgent care should take 2 blood tests over the course of 3 days to check the trend of your hcg hormone level. If trending up, all is well and the pregnancy is continuing to progress. If trending down, this could indicate a miscarriage. In addition, you may want to suggest the possibility of an ultra sound. Usually, 4 weeks is too early for the ultra sound, but there is no harm in asking. Stay positive. It is probably normal activity as cramping, bloating, and spotting does occur in something like 30% of normal pregnancies. :)
