postpartum depression

Can u go through postpartum depression without it being from your baby? Because I've been so depressed and I couldn't even tell u why. Like I love my baby and hes one of the only things that keeps me happy! its not him making me depressed, I can be sad in tears and look at him and still smile. And I've been told I have postpartum but dont feel thats it doesn't make sense I thought thats when ur mad u had a baby and thats definitely not me. I love my son

Yeah like above mentioned postpartum depression doesn't mean its cause your baby its just depression after giving birth.

It's called postpartum depression because it occurs after having a baby due to your hormones, or a hormonal imbalance, it doesn't mean that you're depressed because of your baby! Definitely talk to your doctor :)

Im sorry to hear that but glad baby is ok and yeah id say the stress of all that has caught up with you and thats why youre feeling the way you are now plus recovering from childbirth with hormones still all over the place just adds to it too and takes it toll..dont worry too much it might just take some time for everything to settle..best wishes to you and hope you feel better soon

just had him a month ago and spent all but 7 days in hospital so far at 9 days old he got meningitis and we finally just got to go home it was hard asking doctors if my son would make it and them not being able to answer me the meningitis swelled his brain an took over his blood and entire emune system. We noticed the day he got it so he was able to get care right away he had almost died but the anibiotics worked it was all a miraclE just being a 9 day old. I think it has alot to do with this depression

It's just depression. Lot of people automatically jump to that conclusion because of the child, just call your doctor and ask what can help you
