quitting nicotine/stress-Early Pregnancy

Did anyone struggle to quit smoking one they saw that positive sign? I'm kicking myself.I smoke waaaaaay less (2a day maybe) but I'm struggling to nix it completely. I'm already stressing because I'm chubby and I have 2 more years of school and I feel like I just can't do anything right. Any tips to relax/quit. I judge myself hard enough and I know it's bad so please be positive.

I had gum or suckers... suckers keep help because your holding it in your hand and butting it to your mouth like you do when you smoke!!! That helped me stop right away.

Omg I totally agree. I'm struggling to quit as well but I have cut down and I'm really trying. My doctor to me to try and do my best but not to stress about it because that is worse than smoking. Especially since it's a small bit hard habit to break. Trust me I'm so afraid I'm going to be a bad mom before my baby is even due.

I quit easily cuz i had quit once before, but if its hard for you chew gum or take a walk. Also keep ur hands busy to keep you from smoking. Also keep in mind once you quit tour lungs will be healthier and you can breathe better plus you'll have better smelling hair and clothes. Also your teeth and gums will be healthier as well. All these things did help me in case i got angry cuz when i got angry sometimes i wanted to smoke, but i didn't cuz i remembered how they made me feel and smell. Good Luck hun and i wish you the best and lean on God to help you with your struggles.

I am going through the same thing right now. I went from like 8 a day to 2 and felt horrible. Just talk to a nurse or on call dr at the ob and talk to them about it. My dr told me to look up research on smoking mothers and read studies and it made me feel way better. The fact that u cut back is good for your baby and dont let anyone tell u what to do. Smoking is a hard habit to drop and when you are pregnant sometimes people assume they are an obstetrician and know everything about your baby. Ultimately if you do research and fewl comfortable with smoking while pregnant its nobodys choice but yours. My mom smoked constantly while she was pregnant with me and i was born 8 lbs 11 oz and healthy. Dont let anyone pressure you :) you are doing great!
