I gave my daughter both our last name and now I'm regretting it. I wanna change it to just her dad's but I'm worried it's too late :(

We did all the paper work in the hospital. To change it we need a court order. :( I think that means an attorney is involved

Idk how it works in Texas I can't remember but here in VA they had me sign the paper work and then my son's birth certificate came in the mail. When I signed the paper work they asked me if I wanted any changes done because it's a lot to change it on the bc. I hope it's easier back were you are so you can be happy with baby's name.

Hows your little girl doing?  And how are you healing?  I might join you in the 0-6 month group pretty soon though!

I would call the hospital and ask them if anything can be done to change it.  They probably know, or would at least have a number for you to call.

with the hyphen her last name is 16 letters long.even when i called wic they said it wouldnt fit so i just put her under her dads. i feel like i was being selfish for wanting to do both. its just too long. shes gonna have enough trouble with her first name Hayleigh. The nurses in the hospital even spelt it wrong on the board in the room lol

They usually mail you a form to sign and notarized stating that everything is correct so when that comes just change it.

Call the hospital and see if they sent the paperwork off since you just got out. If not then they should be able to change it.it.

Why do u regret it? Lots of people have both last names. Its just a question btw lol im just curious and wondering what would make it bad? Does it sound weird? Im pretty set on just giving our son his daddys last name. Personally i think two last name is just really long lol especially cuz mine is long and hubbys is semi long

It's not too late.  Especially since its a last name.  Idk how it works where you are, but here we just have to go to the vital records office and ask to make a change on the birth certificate and then the social security office as well.  My son is almost 3 and they let me change his last month.

Well go to the court where you got her birth certificate and speak with them about what to do to do to fix her name.
