Is it ok to have your new born sleep with you in the bed or be in a bassinet or crib

You shouldnt sleep with baby in bed with you, higher chances of sids and suffocation. A co-sleeper or bassinet next to your bed are best options if u want to keep baby close. I will be putting her in bassinet next to our bed because I plan to breastfeed and want her close while she's little.

I don't drink or anything like that. I'm only 18 years old.

Bed sharing is the norm in most of the world. I slept with my oldest beside me and plan to sleep with this one the same.

If your drunk or on medication that causes drowsiness I'd stick to bassinet or crib

No, don't start even. Some people can't teach them to sleep in their own beds for years after that ( our example 7 years...Horrible)

I co-sleep with my 15 month old, but when she was a new born i was too scared to sleep in bed with her and her daddy. So i kept her in her own place (a mini crib) in our bedroom. Id sometimes fall asleep in the chair nursing her, and when she was about 6 months old i started bringing her in to bed with me each morning to nurse her so we could both get more sleep, and somehow that evolved into our current cosleeping arrangement. I waited ntil baby could roll over on her own and was strong enough that i felt comfortable. Guess theres always a risk, especially in,cold weather when blankets could suffocate baby.

I've always done a bassinet right next to my bed. I would never chance it.  It's so dangerous and so many babies die from co sleeping situations. I just read a study of over 8000 infant deaths under 4 months and close to 80% were from co sleeping situations. This was beetwenn 04 and 2012. Also higher risk for SIDS.

Thank you. I have a bassinet but I was considering it too about having baby sleep with you so you won't have to keep getting up after you had c section or natural you know cuz your tired and pain from that and I'm not a heavy sleeper I'm actually a light sleeper

I co - sleep with my babies.  We both get Better rest this way.  I breast feed them too so all I have to do is move them closer to feed them.  In the beginning I have a nightlight on so I can see them better.  They poop a lot so there is usually at least two night time changes. I'm a lite sleeper anyway.  I wouldn't do it any other way.  Kudos to you for considering it.  Your baby will be happiest being close to you.  Do not do this if you are under the influence of anything that will make you sleepy.  I'm not a drinker or drug addict. I don't take sleeping pills.  Anything like that and you will suffocate baby.

Honestly I wouldn't chance it. Though I slept in bed with my four other kids. But that because I didn't know danger I could cause. They fine never rolled over on them I don't move when I sleep.  But I won't do it with this one.  Simply because I rather be safe than sorry.  Can't chance it, one day won't be so fortunate.

I have 2 kids going on my third. I've slept both with me, slept my niece's and nephews with me also. It's not safe if you move alot or if the baby falls off the bed. I always created their own little area for them and I sleep light so any movement and I'd wake up.

Why the other ladies say no.  My first slept between my breasts on my chest at night.  And he slept so calmly. There are a lot of down sides.  You can roll over,  etc. But I'm a light sleeper.  I didn't do it with my second because aydin ended up not moving to his own bed until he was 4 lol

Look into co-sleeping, it's part of attachment parenting. Some people do it however, there is evidence against it.

If you want to sleep with your baby get a co sleeper for you to put in ur bed that way you wont roll on the baby or get a bassinet co sleepers are cheaper tho

Do not sleep with your baby, anything could accidentally happen like you roll over & suffocate him/her or fall off the bed which I doubt you'll have your baby at the end of the bed. But its best to buy a baby bed

Babies shouldn't sleep in your bed. But beside your beds great! You could roll on your baby and suffocate him while your sleeping. Most people think they would feel themselves roll on top of them until its to late. Don't chance it!
