in pain and upset ...

Woke up at 3am this morning with painful contractions that increased a lot in pain thoughout the day. I knew these weren't braxton hicks because even when I moved around, they  were consistent of 5-4 min apart without stopping. So 9 hours after they started and the pain was beggining to be to much I went into L&D. They monitored my contractions and said they were very strong and consistent. But when they checked my cervix I was only 2 cm dilated and 80% thinned! Which is improvement from before but I was hopeing it was baby time and I only ended up getting sent home still having consistent contractions. I don't know what's going to happen next:( any advice or similar experiences??? (Today's my due date BTW)

Today's my due date too! I went in last night because my contractions were sooooo painful. I had them all day. They said the same thing to me. Contractions are strong and consistent but my cervix wasn't ready yet. I'm 3 to 4 cm and 90% effaced. They had me walk for an hour and there was no change so they sent me home. They told me to come back when my contractions were 2 mins apart for 2 hours and when my contractions were so painful that I couldn't talk! I was really pissed. My husband was even more pissed. They told me to take a benedryl to help me sleep and not to even worry about taking tylenol because it wouldn't have any effect on my contractions. So I went home, took a benedryl, and slept for all of 10 minutes before waking up to constant fireballs of pain. My husband got about the same amount of sleep as me because I kept tossing and turning and trying to get the pain to stop but it wouldn't. Still in pain today. Contractions are still consistent but their not 2 mins apart yet. And I'm tired of going in and being sent home so I'm just gonna tough it out and wait till my water breaks. I have an appt on Monday so hopefully they set up a date for me to be induced...
